Oscar Isaac paid tribute to Carrie Fisher with a candid photo of the late actress with Mark Hamill taken during production of "Star Wars Episode VIII."

"She had no patience for pretense or small talk," Isaac wrote on Facebook. "She saw through things, at a different angle, with the gritty wisdom that comes from the hardest lessons. And, man, did she make me laugh. Will miss you dearly, Carrie."

Taken on the Pinewood Studios backlot, the snapshot offers a glimpse of Fisher and Hamill's costumes from the 2017 "Star Wars" sequel.

Fisher, who passed away Tuesday at age 60, four days after suffering a massive hear attack, had a relatively small part as Rebel leader General Leia Organa in 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." She had already completed her scenes for "Episode VIII," in which Leia will reportedly have a larger role. Fisher was intended to return for 2019's "Episode IX," which doesn't begin filming until next year.

Isaac's tribute joins those from such "Star Wars" co-stars as Mark Hamill, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Harrison Ford and Daisy Ridley, as well as director George Lucas.

Fisher, who rose to fame as Princess Leia before branching out to become a celebrated author and in-demand Hollywood script doctor, suffered a massive heart attack Dec. 23 while on a flight from London to Los Angeles. Her mother, famed actress Debbie Reynolds, passed away Wednesday, just a day after her daughter's death.

Directed by Rian Johnson, "Star Wars Episode VIII" opens Dec. 15, 2017.
