Oscar Issaac is reuniting with "Ex Machina" director Alex Garland for his next feature, a sci-fi thriller called "Annihilation."

According to Tracking Board, Isaac will star alongside Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, and Tessa Thompson in the pic, which adapts the first novel of the "Southern Ranch" trilogy by Jeff VanderMeer.

Here's what they say about the plot of "Annihilation":

"The story centers around a biologist (Portman) who, in seeking answers to her husband’s tragic disappearance volunteers for a government expedition into an area sealed off as an environmental disaster zone. What she discovers, however, is pristine wilderness, and a mysterious dark force within it."

Scott Rudin is producing through his company, Scott Rudin Productions, with Andrew MacDonald and Allon Reich through DNA Films. Eli Bush will oversee the project for Rudin, with Alana Mayo and Nathan Samdahl of Paramount Pictures.

"Annihilation" starts filming later this spring in London.
