Fans of the "Big Hero 6" animated feature film will be happy to learn that most of the gang is getting back together to bring the superheroes of San Fransokyo to the small screen in Disney XD's new series. The new animated series will serve as a follow-up to the successful 2014 Disney film.

It's been revealed that many of the film's original voice cast will return for the animated series. Returning for more action are Ryan Potter (Hiro), Scott Adsit (Baymax), Jamie Chung (GoGo), Genesis Rodriguez (Honey Lemon), Alan Tudyk (Alistair Krei), May Rudolph (Aunt Cass), David Shaughnessy (Heathcliff) and Stan Lee (Fred's dad).

Additional guest voice actors will include Jenifer Lewis ("Blackish"), Andrew Scott ("Sherlock") and Andy Richter. Not returning for the series are T.J. Miller and Damon Wayans Jr., who voiced Fred and Wasabi in the film, respectively.

Originally announced last March, the new series will continue the adventures of Hiro, Baymax and his teammates as they defend their hometown from bad guys while attending the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.

The film, a Disney adaptation of a lesser-known Marvel comic, featured Hiro and his robot pal Baymax as they attempted to become heroes and uncover the truth behind the death of Tadashi, Hiro’s bother and Baymax’s creator. The Oscar-nominated superhero action comedy earned more than $657 million worldwide.

Mark McCorkle, Bob Schooley and Nick Filippi will produce the series with Filippi as a supervising director. “Big Hero 6” will also be produced by Disney Television Animation.

Disney XD's "Big Hero 6" will arrive in 2017.
