The upcoming Transformers spinoff movie centered on Bumblebee (and appropriately titled Bumblebee) will include at least one other famous Autobot among its cast. Joining our favorite yellow-and-black car will be Autobot leader Optimus Prime, played once again by Peter Cullen. Cullen, of course, has been the primary voice of Optimus for years, in the cartoons as well as all of the Michael Bay movies.

Of course, Cullen's answer as to whether fans should expect to hear him voice Prime in the spinoff is obviously vague. There's no indication as to whether Prime will play a major role in the film, or if he'll just make a short cameo appearance.

Though it's set in the 1980s, it's not all that surprising that Bumblebee would involve Optimus Prime. Not only does the pair have a friendship as old as the franchise, the relationship between the two was one of the major aspects of the Last Knight film. In the film, it was Bumblebee using his real voice that snapped Prime out of the mind control Quintessa placed on him.

Directed by Kubo and the Two Strings helmer Travis Knight with a script by Christina Hodson, Paramount is expected to roll out Bumblebee theatrically on December 21, 2018. The film will star Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendenborg Jr., Rachel Crow, Jason Drucker, and Abby Quinn.
