An Omaha, Nebraska, comic store damaged late last month in a fire will reopen Wednesday at a new location about seven blocks away.

The blaze broke out Feb. 23 at 8316 Blondo St., which had housed the main location of Dragon’s Lair Comics & Games since it opened in 1976, causing about $300,000 in damage to the two stores on the first floor and the five apartments upstairs. An estimated 40 percent to 60 percent of Dragon's Lair's inventory was damaged by smoke or water.

But now, about a month later, the store's staff is busy putting the finishing touches on its new, larger location at 2227 N. 91st Plaza, at 91st and Blondo.

“It's been very stressful," manager Tom Miller tells WOWT. "Just realizing how much stuff we had in stock, how much damage, how much we would need to replace, how much we'll have to sell at what price."

Dragon's Lair will open at 9 a.m. Wednesday, christening the new location with a fire damage/overstock sale, and a drawing for two $50 gift certificates.
