A dazed, blood-splattered Rick Grimes threatens a grinning Negan in a sneak peek at the Season Seven premiere of "The Walking Dead."

The footage, which premiered this evening during the AMC drama's panel at New York Comic Con, will undoubtedly transform fans into amateur blood spatter analysts as they pore over footage from the Season Six finale, once again searching for clues to which (ahem) survivor could've fallen victim to Lucille.

"I'm gonna kill you," Rick whispers hoarsely to Negan, who's gripping the gore-covered bat in his hand. "Not today, not tomorrow, but I'm gonna kill you."

A chuckling Negan calls for Simon, his "right-hand man," in an exchange that just might provide a clue to his victim, and then drags off Rick to his RV for what can only be a grim one-on-one. And, considering that Negan takes a hatchet with him, it very well could hint at another bloody scene from the comic book. Yeah, you know the one ...

Returning Sunday, Oct. 23, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC, "The Walking Dead" stars Andrew Lincoln, Steve Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Lennie James, Danai Gurira, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The season premiere will be followed by a special 90-minute episode of the live chat show "Talking Dead," featuring the main cast as guests.
