The Valiant Entertainment-based web series Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe was first announced last year at New York Comic Con, meant to introduce mainstream fans to a variety of Valiant's characters. There hasn't been a ton of news on it since -- but that's changing soon.

CBR has the first look at Valiant Digital's 30-second teaser for the upcoming trailer launch a week from today, including an introduction from Michael Rowe, who stars in the series as Ninjak (and is known to fans of The CW's Arrow as the Arrowverse's Deadshot). With that trailer's arrival on Aug. 28 will come the details of distribution plans for the series -- i.e., when and where you can watch it.

Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe is directed by Aaron & Sean Schoenke of the popular YouTube series Super Power Beat Down, dramatizing theoretical battles between superheroes, and is the first show to see their take on the genre in an authorized project. The show was written by the Schoenkes along with Joe Harris and Andrew Rowe, and produced by Valiant CEO and Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani, Josh Johns and Gavin Cuneo, and is separate and unconnected from Valiant's feature film plans.

Here's the official synopsis: "Colin King is Ninjak, MI-6’s deadliest intelligence operative and weapons expert. When the ruthless assassin Roku exploits his greatest weakness, Ninjak will be forced to betray his closest allies. Now, on the run, he must face off against the most powerful heroes known to man for a high-octane, take-no-prisoners trial by fire more perilous and more unpredictable than any he’s faced before. In 2017, the world’s most dangerous super-spy goes to war with the Valiant Universe…"

"Web series seem to fit our narrative best, our skill set best," Shamdasani told CBR last year. "We can do something that was one step removed from publishing, exhibits the traits of characters that seem to get people excited, allow us to bring our stories and know-how to a new medium. Ninjak was a perfect choice, because he touched so many different avenues of the Valiant Universe. He fits squarely in the espionage world; he has strong connections to our supernatural side of the Valiant Universe with Master Darque and Shadowman; he’s on Unity, which allows him to tap into X-O Manowar and the Harbinger world. He was a good gateway, because we knew we wanted to touch as many components of the Valiant Universe as the story organically let us."

Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe also stars Jason David Frank as Bloodshot, Derek Theler as X-O Manowar, John Hennigan as the Eternal Warrior and Ciera Foster as Livewire.
