After hitting the races and punching faces with Ryan Gosling in his past two films, Drive and Only God Forgives, director Nicolas Winding Refn has set his sights on something a little different.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the filmmaker is in early negotiations to direct the horror thriller The Bringing for Sony Pictures. It's based on sinister occurrences at the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles, "which has a history of the macabre," according the website.

The hotel's most recent horror involved a woman who was found dead inside the water tank on the hotel's roof. According to THR, The Bringing script centers on a man investigating that death. A role for Gosling, perhaps? He seems to be Refn's lucky charm.
