Two new images of the Steppenwolf action figure set to be released alongside Warner Bros.’ Justice Film have been revealed. The first image that surfaced earlier this month showed the figure without his iconic horned helmet, positioned beside one of the film’s primary protagonists, Batman. The new images, though, show Steppenwolf in a more familiar situation, standing triumphant over a blasted world littered with skeletons, boom tubes pouring out Parademons overhead. A second image lines up Steppenwolf beside other Justice League action figures.

Steppenwolf is set to be played by actor Ciarán Hinds, and will be brought to life using so much CGI that the actor reportedly did not even interact with the film’s main ensemble cast. In the film, Steppenwolf will descend on Earth in the wake of Superman’s death, the planet seemingly having been left defenseless after the Kryptonian’s ultimate sacrifice.

Steppenwolf will not have quite as easy a time conquering Earth as he might have imagined, though. After the death of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman have gone about collecting other metahumans in the event of an attempted invasion or other calamitous cosmic event – that process is hinted at in the conclusion to Suicide Squad. The second picture shows the product of their labor, with Batman and Wonder Woman standing beside the likes of Cyborg, the Flash and Aquaman, all ready to tangle with the monstrous Steppenwolf. Superman, of course, is included in the lineup.
