The hit drama "Sherlock" is returning in the New Year, and to whet fans' appetites for the further adventures of everyone's favorite consulting detective, series co-creator Mark Gatiss, who also plays Mycroft Holmes, has put together a special behind-the-scenes video.

Clocking in at just more than a minute, the video offers a few glimpses of the first week's filming on the show's fourth season.

While no big secrets are revealed, the clip does emphasize how tight the show's schedule has had to become, with episode read-throughs occurring in the evenings, after a day's filming, to accommodate the booming careers of stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, and new series villain Toby Jones.

The new season picks up the action following the death of Season Three villain Magnussen (Lars Mikkelsen) and in the wake of the apparent return of Season Two nemesis James Moriarty (Andrew Scott.) While the 2015 Christmas special seemed to prove that Moriarty could have faked his own death, Sherlock appears prepared for anything Moriarty has planned for him regardless.

“Sherlock” Season Four premieres Jan. 1 on BBC One and PBS.
