ABC has released a promo for next week's three-hour Marvel event, which kicks off with the one-hour "Captain America: 75 Heroic Years" special at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the two-hour premiere of "Agent Carter's" second season at 9 p.m. ET.

Here's the official description for the Cap special, helmed by freshman director Zac Knutson:

From his first appearance in 1941 through the 75 years that would follow, Captain America has been one of--if not the most--influential comic book characters ever to be created. Take a look back at the history of this beloved Marvel character and see how his influence continues to have impact today in the original special, "Marvel's Captain America: 75 Heroic Years," airing Tuesday, January 19th on ABC.

In addition to the special and premiere, "an exclusive announcement from Marvel Comics" is set to be announced at some point during the event.

Perhaps we'll hear something about "Captain America: Civil War," which hits theatres on May 6, 2016.
