The poster shows all five of the rangers from the upcoming, modernized movie reboot of the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” television show. The show originally aired in Japan as “Super Sentai,” but was localized for American audiences by Saban Entertainment and aired on the Fox network from 1993 to 2001.

The upcoming “Power Rangers” adaptation is the third movie in the franchise’s history, but the first to provide a major reboot of the source material. “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie” released in theaters in 1995 and net $66 million internationally. Of the two films, it was the most successful. “Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie” debuted in 1997 and made only $9 million internationally.

“Power Rangers” is directed by Dean Israelite, best known for his work on the found footage science fiction thriller “Project Almanac.” The reboot is written by John Gatins, screenwriter of “Real Steel” and “Coach Carter.”
