So far, the black and white set photos from the upcoming "Logan" film have revealed and confirmed plenty about the movie. We got our first look at Donald Pierce via a set pic, and another confirmed that Dafne Keen is playing Laura Kinney (X-23). Now Richard E. Grant has a revelatory picture of his own, and it confirms who he's playing in the film.

After initial rumors and speculation pegged Grant as the diabolical Mister Sinister, this photo's caption confirms that he is instead playing a character named Rice. It's probably not a coincidence, as a supporting character from the X-23 comics is named Zander Rice -- and he's the son of one of the doctors that worked on the Weapon X project and was killed by Logan during his escape.

Richard E. Grant was cast back in April, and his character was described as a "mad scientist" type. That character description coupled with the post-credits scene of "X-Men: Apocalypse" seemed to indicate that Grant would be playing Mister Sinister. But while that scene did correctly foreshadow X-23's debut, it apparently missed the mark with Sinister. Instead, Grant will be playing a scientist named Rice, a minor character with ties to both X-23 and Wolverine in the comics.

Set beyond the events of “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” 2017’s “Logan” is set in the near future following a cataclysmic event that ravaged the mutant race. It will also be Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine, and will introduce Dafne Keen as the character’s teenage clone X-23.

Directed by James Mangold, written by Michael Green, Scott Frank, James Mangold and David James Kelly, and starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Dafne Keen and Stephen Merchant, “Logan” arrives in theaters on March 3, 2017.
