Just hours after "Logan" director James Mangold revealed Stephen Merchant's character in the third and final Wolverine film, Merchant has taken it upon himself to share a new image of the mutant in all his pale skin glory.

Merchant shared a black and white photo on his Instagram account that sees a mutant wearing a dark hat with the bottom-half of his faced covered. Not much can be taken from the image itself, but there is speculation that Merchant is playing the mutant-hunting Morlock Caliban -- though Fox is keeping his role tight-lipped for now. Merchant's accompanying quote reads: "How I spent my summer."

Speculation is that "Logan" will borrow heavily from Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's "Old Man Logan" comic book storyline, in which an older Logan lives in a world where the heroes lost and the villains stand triumphant. Notable comic book characters set to appear in "Logan" are Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Wolverine clone X-23 (Sienna Novikov), in addition to the villainous Donald Pierce (Boyd Holbrook) and Dr. Zander Rice (Richard E. Grant).
