Three episodes into "Rise of the Villains," the branding used for the second season of FOX's "Gotham," it's safe to say that James Frain's Theo Galavan -- a billionaire and mayoral candidate -- is powerful, smart, and very, very dangerous. A new clip released today shows Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) attempting to thank Galavan for his seemingly heroic actions in last week's "The Last Laugh" before a girl playing in a fountain catches his eye. Galavan tells the future Batman that the girl is his ward, Silver St. Cloud (Natalie Alyn Lind), who also lost her parents at a young age. Bruce and Silver meet by the fountain and Bruce seems immediately taken with her.

Created by Steve Englehart and Mike Gold, St. Cloud made her DC Comics debut in "Detective Comics" #470. She has been a recurring love interest of Bruce Wayne's, playing a pivotal role in Englehart and Marshall Rogers' "Detective" run and most recently appeared in "Batman: The Widening Gyre" by Kevin Smith and Walt Flanagan. Perhaps the character's biggest claim to fame is deducing that Bruce Wayne and Batman are one in the same.

"Gotham," also starring Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue and Robin Lord Taylor, airs Mondays on Fox at 8/9C.
