Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have unveiled he second trailer for Godzilla, the highly anticipated reboot of the giant-monster franchise by director Gareth Edwards (Monsters). More importantly, the new footage offers what's perhaps the first straight-ahead -- and if not, most certainly the best -- look at the new King of the Monsters.

Clocking in at more than two and a half minutes, the trailer puts much of the focus on Bryan Cranston's character Joe Brody, who sounds the alarm. "You're not fooling anyone when you say what happened was a natural disaster," he says over shots of widespread destruction. "You're lying! It was not an earthquake, it wasn't a typhoon, because what's really happening is that you're hiding something out there -- and it is going to send us back to the Stone Age!"

Opening May 16, Godzilla also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins and David Strathairn.

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.
