The third season of The CW's "The Flash" is fast approaching, and the most recent promo, titled "Time Strikes Back," creates even more anticipation for next month's season premiere, offering a mix of new and previously unseen footage.

The trailer opens with Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) asking, "Where are we?" The question is posed to co-star John Wesley Shipp, though it isn't immediately clear if the actor is portraying Barry's father, Henry Allen, or Jay Garrick (Earth-3's Flash), following his dual role turn beginning with the Season 2 finale.

Shipp tells him they're in Central City, to which Barry asks, "No, I meant what year?" The question suggests after his actions in the finale that trigger the new Flashpoint reality of Season 3. This also suggests he's speaking with Jay Garrick and not his father.

The remaining shots reveal consequences stemming from Barry's trip through time at the end of last season, including Iris West (Candice Patton) questioning her relationship with Barry. It becomes clear to Barry that his actions have created a new timeline, and the trailer ends with an alternate version of Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) stating to Barry, "There's a timeline where I'm not rich? That's a glitch in the universe..."
