After learning a little more about Robbie Amell's upcoming return to "The Flash," Entertainment Weekly has confirmed the character's return to the show -- although it comes with a bit of a twist.

"We are beyond excited to have Robbie back on 'The Flash,'" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told EW. "You can't keep a good Firestorm down. Only this time, he's back with a twist, a deadly Earth-Two version of our beloved Ronnie in the form of Deathstorm."

Amell has been teasing Ronnie Raymond's return since October, but the possible context of his character's return remained a mystery considering that his character died in the "Flash" season two premiere. Kreisberg's comments confirm that Amell will be playing the Earth-Two version of the character; "Flash's" second season has featured a number of characters from the parallel Earth, including alternate versions of Harrison Wells and Linda Park.

The EW article also hints that Caitlin Snow and Ronnie Raymond will also be a couple on Earth-Two -- a super-powered supervillain couple comprised of Killer Frost and Deathstorm.

"The Flash" returns to the CW on January 19 at 8 PM ET.
