If you've been waiting to learn the shocking origin of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" Ghost Rider, then next week's episode is one you won't want to miss. We've gotten glimpses of Robbie Reyes' past in previous episodes of the show's fourth season, mainly that he sold his soul to the devil. But Ghost Rider has plenty of different origins in the comic, and more than one person has claimed the Ghost Rider mantle. In fact, last night's episode ("Lockup") included a hint to the original Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze. Whether or not this hint will play into next week's origin, however, remains unknown.

Episode 4.06 – The Good Samaritan

The shocking origin story of Robbie’s transition into Ghost Rider is revealed as the lives of Coulson and the team hang in the balance.

The latest in a long line of Ghost Riders, the comic book version of Robbie Reyes debuted in 2014’s “All-New Ghost Rider” #1. Created by Felipe Smith and Tradd Moore, the character changed things up for the classic hero; instead of a flaming motorcycle, the vigilante instead drove a hell-ified 1969 Dodge Charger. In the comics, Robbie became the Ghost Rider after a street race took a deadly turn where Reyes was mercilessly gunned down and resurrected by the Spirit of Vengeance.

Airing Tuesdays at 10 pm ET/PT on ABC, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Chloe Bennet as Daisy "Quake" Johnson, Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May, Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Alphonso "Mack" Mackenzie and more.
