Things are about to get legendary as fan-favorite animated series Votron heads to Netflix. That's not just hyperbole, however. The streaming giant today unveiled the official title of its new animated series, "Voltron: Legendary Defender," along with its logo featuring classic colors.

The new series was announced in January as part of its continued collaboration with Dreamworks Animation. This marks the first official image from the new series, which debuted today on Nerdist.

"Voltron" was a hit show in the eighties, and featured a "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers"-like premise. A team of astronauts assemble inside a giant robot named Voltron and fight to defend the universe. The '80s series was revived on NickToons in 2011 as "Voltron Force," but it ran one season. Dynamite Entertainment currently holds the "Voltron" comics license and is in the midst of releasing "Voltron: From the Ashes" featuring a new version of the team.
