Best known for her roles as Jacqueline Sharp on Netflix's "House of Cards" and Alma Garret on HBO's "Deadwood," Parker joins previously announced cast members Toby Stephens ("Black Sails") as Dr. John Robinson, Taylor Russell ("Falling Skies") as Judy Robinson and Maxwell Jenkins ("Betrayal") as Will Robinson.

In the original series, which aired from 1965 to 1968, the Robinson family's planned five-and-half-year journey aboard the Jupiter 2 to colonize a planet in the Alpha Centauri system is sabotaged by Dr. Zachary Smith, leading them off course and leaving them lost in space. Maureen was the compassionate and brilliant wife of exhibition leader Dr. John Robinson, and often served as the gentle voice of reason. How the show and Maureen's character might change for Netflix's update on the story is unknown.

Hailing from Legendary TV, the 10-episode reboot is written by “Dracula Untold” and “The Last Witch Hunter” screenwriters Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. “Prison Break” alum Zack Estrin will serve as showrunner.

"Lost in Space" in scheduled to premiere in 2018 on Netflix.
