It was just last week that writer J. Michael Straczynski was telling Spinoff Online that he and Andy and Lana Wachowski's Netflix action series Sense8 was hopefully looking at a Season 2 pickup. "Just things happening on the backend that have to be worked out," he said adding that the creators "know where we’re going" for an epic long term plan.

Now the next step in that plan is officially in place as Netflix announced a second season today via Twitter:

Following the lives of eight people from around the world whose lives are suddenly and inexplicably connected, allowing each of them to access the others’ knowledge, skills and even secrets, Sense8 had a strong reception for its first 12 episodes.

The series stars Brian J. Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Jamie Clayton, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Tina Desai, Doona Bae, Aml Ameen and Max Riemelt. Also, Daryl Hannah, Naveen Andrews, Terrence Mann, Freema Agyeman, Alfonso Herrera, Erendira Ibarra, Adam Shapiro, Ness Bautista​ and ​​​Joe Pantoliano.
