Goran Visnjic ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "Elektra") has been cast as the antagonist in NBC's upcoming time travel pilot -- titled "Time" -- which is described as "'Back to the Future meets 'Mission: Impossible.'" The project comes from a collaboration between genre TV veterans Eric Kripke ("Supernatural") and Shawn Ryan ("The Shield"), who both wrote the script and are serving as executive producers.

According to Deadline, Visnjic's time-traveling antagonist, named Garcia Flynn, is "...vulnerable, damaged and oddly emotional...a dangerous man who’s recently stolen a time machine and traveled with his team of soldiers to the hours prior to the Hindenburg’s explosion. Flynn is guided by a strange journal from some other period of time, and while his full plan is still shrouded in mystery, it’s clear that he must be stopped."

The series follows a trio -- played by Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter and Malcolm Barrett -- who travel through time to prevent the criminal activity of Visnjic's Garcia Flynn as he attempts to alter the fabric of human history.

The pilot is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Davis Entertainment, and if picked up to series, will air on NBC.
