"Powerless," the upcoming NBC comedy set within the DC Universe, has further strengthened its comic book ties.

We already knew that the series, which centers on normal humans living in a world populated by superheroes and supervillains, features D-list DC Comics characters Crimson Fox and Jack O'Lantern in its pilot. However, the new synopsis reveals the primary setting of the office comedy is no longer RetCon Insurance, but rather Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises.

Yes, Bruce Wayne's Wayne Enterprises. Viewers probably shouldn't hold their breaths for an appearance by the billionaire playboy, however.

Debuting Feb. 2, "Powerless" stars Vanessa Hudgens as Emily Locke, who stars her new job as director of research & development for Wayne Security, which specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer as they try not to become collateral damage in the battles between superheroes and supervillains.

The trailer for the first episode, which leaked in May, showed how the daily commute in the DC Universe can be complicated by high-flying fights, and how office workers debated Wonder Woman's level of divinity as we might discuss a celebrity's relationship status.

In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.

Also starring Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches and Christina Kirk, "Powerless" premieres Thursday, Feb. 2, at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
