Brace yourselves, Dwight Schrute fans, you will not be seeing more of the Office character once the NBC comedy ends this season. For a while now, we'd been hearing about a Dwight spinoff called The Farm starring Rainn Wilson and set on the Schrute family beet farm. The roles were cast and the backdoor pilot shot, but according to Wilson, the network isn't interested in taking the project to series.

"Farm Update: NBC has passed on moving forward with The Farm TV show," the actor wrote on Twitter. "Had a blast making the pilot - onwards & upwards!"

Viewers of last week's Halloween-themed episode "Here Comes Treble" will remember that Dwight threw out a line about having to take care of siblings, a clear reference to the intended spinoff. According to TVLine, a network insider contends the pilot will still air later this season as an episode of The Office as originally planned.
