It's Wednesday, which means it's once again time for Firefly and Castle star Nathan Fillion to be rumored to play Dr. Henry Pym in multiple Marvel films.

This time the rumor is reported by ComicBookMovie.com, which cites "a well trusted source close to Marvel Studios" as saying Fillion is in final negotiations for a multi-film deal that would begin with The Avengers, and presumably extend to Ant-Man, which director Edgar Wright has said would feature both Pym and Scott Lang.

What's more, the source says that Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria will play Janet Van Dyne, a role she's been linked to since September 2008, when she was photographed leaving the Burbank offices of Marvel with an Avengers comic in hand.

I've never seen Longoria act, so I have no opinion about her suitability for the role of The Wasp. Fillion certainly would make a fine Ant-Man, and could hold his own on-screen with the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson.

More importantly, though, Marvel needs to cast Fillion so we can finally put this rumor to rest and move on to the next one -- like whether Patrick Dempsey wants to play Doctor Strange.
