Natalie Portman's absence in "The Avengers," "Age of Ultron" and the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok" has brought into question her future in Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to the actress, not even she is clear if or when she will return.

When speaking with the Wall Street Journal regarding her upcoming film "A Tale of Love and Darkness," Portman said that as far as she knows she is done with Marvel. "As far as I know I'm done. I don't know if maybe one day they'll ask for an 'Avengers 7' or something. As far as I know I'm done, but it was a great thing to be a part of."

Portman portrayed scientist Jane Foster in "Thor" and "Thor The Dark World." While the ending of "Thor The Dark World" suggested that Thor was 'hanging up the hammer' to live on Earth with Jane, she was not included in "Age of Ultron." Thor did reach out to her mentor Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgård) in "Age of Ultron," but Jane was not included in any of those scenes.

The third stand-alone "Thor" film is currently filming in Austraila and Portman is not set to reprise her role as Jane Foster. Whether "Thor Ragnarok" will address her and Thor's relationship or breakup remains to be seen.
