In "The Wrong Side," I examine comic book fights that were particularly notable in the wrong side winning (or at least that the fight wasn't won the "right" way). This really isn't a big deal, of course, as it doesn't really matter if the "wrong" person won a fight. But it's fun to talk about! Here are our past editions of the feature.

If you want to suggest a fight for future inclusion in this feature, drop me a line at brianc@cbr.com. Don't suggest a fight in the comments!

My buddy Michael F. wrote in about a particularly hilarious fight Namor was losing to a surprising foe.

First off, as always, we have to determine the power level of the people involved in this discussion. The way we do this is to show how well they do when they fight Spider-Man.

Namor has handled Spider-Man very well over the years, which is saying a lot, as Spider-Man is the most powerful being in the known universe (and all unknown universes, as well). Here is fighting Spider-Man in Amazing Spider-Man #214 (by Denny O'Neil, John Romita Jr. and Jim Mooney)...

It's not as dispostive, but this Mike Allred drawing of Namor punching Spider-Man from the 1996 Untold Tales of Spider-Man Annual that Allred did with Kurt Busiek is also pretty cool...

I could be wrong, but I don't recall offhand Spider-Man ever fighting any leeches.

So that brings us to The Sub-Mariner #37 (by Roy Thomas, Ross Andru and Mike Esposito) and Namor is trying to free Lady Dorma from the evil Llyra and Llyra is using her ability to control sealife to attack Namor...

So yes, Namor was just about to be killed by a bunch of leeches until Dorma knocked Llyra out. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Sadly, even with that rescue, Namor was too late to save Dorma's life...

Tragic.

Anyhow, thanks for the suggestion, Michael!
