Legendary Television is bringing its adaptation of the "Myst" video game franchise to Hulu, where Deadline reports it's scored a script-to-series commitment.

The studio acquired the rights in October from Cyan Worlds, with the website now adding the involvement of producer Matt Tolmach ("The Amazing Spider-Man," "Sinister Six") and writer Evan Daugherty ("Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," "Divergent"). Brother's Robyn Miller and Rand Miller, the game's designers, are also involved in the development of the series.

Debuting in 1993, "Myst" is an adventure puzzle game that places players in the role of the Stranger, who uses a special book to travel to the island of the title. A surprise hit, "Myst" was the bestselling PC game until the release of "The Sims" in 2002. It's inspired four direct sequels and numerous spinoffs.
