A first look at Russell Crowe's performance as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was released in a new sneak peek for Universal Pictures' The Mummy.

The featurette provided by Syfy Wire reveals Dr. Henry Jekyll as the head of an organization called Prodigium, a secret society dedicated to fighting monsters. Hiding in plain sight, Jekyll uses the Natural History Museum as his base of operations and to easily access historical resources.

Russell Crowe teases how Jekyll's personal experience might make him well-suited in fighting against monsters. "There's a lot to find out about Jekyll," he said. "It's not giving too much away to say that he has quite the clear understanding of evil."

Crowe is of course referring to the character's sinister alter-ego Mr. Hyde. Although brief, we get to see the Mr. Hyde in action as he menacingly approaches Nick Morton (Tom Cruise).
