Star Wars: Episode VII director J.J. Abrams and writer Lawrence Kasdan had a video message for fans on Sunday, aka May the Fourth, aka Star Wars Day: There will be more casting announcements.

The "video selfie," as Abrams calls it, is primarily a Star Wars Day greeting, but the filmmaker does say "as casting announcements continue." That should probably be considered confirmation, rather than "news," as a report circulated shortly after last week's big announcement that there's at least one more major role -- quite possibly the one for which Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o met with Abrams.

So far the cast includes franchise newcomers Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow, and veterans Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker.

Star Wars: Episode VII opens Dec. 18, 2015.
