An animated series based on Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur comic is in development at Disney Channels Worldwide. The Matrix's Laurence Fishburne, who is also slated to appear as Dr. Bill Foster in Ant-Man and the Wasp, will produce the series with fellow black-ish executive producer Helen Sugland via Cinema Gypsy Productions and Marvel Animation.

Deadline reports that the animated series is in the works but does not yet have a set network, meaning it could air on either Disney Channel, Disney XD or Disney Junior. The series' working title is Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.

Launched in 2015, Brandon Montclare, Amy Reeder and Natacha Bustos' Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur comic follows Lunella Lafayette, a nine-year-old genius, and her prehistoric friend Devil Dinosaur. As one of the smartest people in the Marvel Universe, Lunella loves to create inventions, even though they tend to get her in trouble at school. However, Lunella is more than just a genius; she is also an Inhuman, with the ability to swap bodies with her gigantic crimson dinosaur pal -- as if middle school wasn't hard enough already!

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur will join Marvel's other animated projects, including Marvel's Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers Assemble.

Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur does not yet have a release date.
