All month long we will feature brand-new Cool Avengers and X-Men Comic Book Moments in celebration of their fiftieth anniversaries this month. Here is an archive of all the past cool comic moments that I've featured so far over the years.

Today we look at Namor sending a message to Norman Osborn in Dark Reign: The List - X-Men...

Namor married the alien Marrina but sadly Marrina turned into this giant creature and Namor and his teammates (back when he was an Avenger) were forced to kill her. However, she later popped up alive again in the control of the Master during the Kang Dynasty storyline in Avengers. The Master died in that story, though. So in Dark Reign: The List - X-Men #1 by Matt Fraction, Alan Davis and Mark Farmer, we learn that eventually Norman Osborn got a hold of her and genetically mutated her back into that giant creature again only much, much worse. He then used her to get revenge on Namor. You see, Namor and the White Queen both pretended to be partners with Norman Osborn in his evil Cabal but really were just spying on him. Namor then joined the X-Men. So Osborn sought revenge by sending the mutated Marrina to kill as many Atlanteans as possible. Eventually the X-Men and Namor came up with a plan. First, the X-Men teleported every Atlantean they could find out of the Pacific Ocean so that there was only Marrina and Namor. She quickly found him, but he was waiting there with the X-Men. They executed an elaborate plan that basically involved them all trying to get her out of the water. What comes next is sad but also badass...

Great moment for Namor. Strong piece of writing by Fraction and amazing art from Davis and Farmer.
