Every day this month I'm going to feature the work of a great artist, only instead of me picking the artist to feature, they will be picked by their peers, fellow professional comic book artists who are picking out artists (from the past and present) who they think deserve special attention. Do note that most artists I asked about this gave me multiple answers and I picked out one choice out of a number of suggestions, so these are not definitive answers, like "Artist X likes Artist Y and he thinks all other Artists are terrible!" Here is an archive of the artists featured so far!

Today, we have the pick of Skottie Young, the extremely popular artist (I believe he recently made Wizard's "Top Ten" list) who is currently doing stunning work on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and a bunch of covers every month. Here's his website.

Skottie's pick is Sean Gordon Murphy.

For as long as I've had this blog, I've been extolling the virtues of Sean Gordon Murphy, so it really comes as no surprise to me to see that his peers think he is pretty darn awesome, as well.

Here are two pages from a Batman/Scarecrow: Year One mini-series he did.

Here are two striking covers he did for a Spike (from Buffy and Angel) series...

Here are two cool Storm Shadow covers he did (Storm Shadow was a fun book). Murphy also did a slight re-design of Storm Shadow's costume...

Here are four pages from a Hellblazer story he drew...

Here are two cool covers he did for Marvel - the Spider-Man one is particularly striking...

Here are three pages from his neat original graphic novel, Off Road...

Here are two pages from a Star Wars story he did...

Finally, here are a bunch of absolutely GORGEOUS preview pages for his new project (the name will be revealed as you go along)....

WOW, those most recent pages are absolutely stunning.

Check out more of Sean's work at his website here.

Thanks to Skottie for the great pick!
