Move over Luke Perry! CW's "Riverdale" is gaining yet another former teen superstar when '80s icon Molly Ringwald joins the cast in a guest role. If the first look images are anything to go by, it looks like there's drama just brewing underneath the surface of her smile.

Ringwald will play Archie's (KJ Apa) mother Mary in the episode, "Chapter Ten: The Lost Weekend," airing April 13. The episode will feature Mary and Archie's dad Fred (Perry) officially finalizing their divorce after being estranged for an unspecified amount of time. The first look images show Fred and Mary in a cordial mood, albeit in more casual clothes; an image that was released in March showed the two at what seemed like a dance or some other type of black-tie function. But this is "Riverdale," so who knows what kind of messy parental battle the two are actually having.

The episode itself is full of messy relationship battles, seeing how Archie is also on the outs with Valerie. Check out the official synopsis:

When Fred (Luke Perry) decides to finalize the divorce with Archie's mother Mary (guest star Molly Ringwald), Archie (KJ Apa) hides his true feelings. Archie tries to win Valerie (guest star Hayley Law) back with a romantic evening, however, Betty (Lili Reinhart) hijacks his plans when she decides to throw Jughead (Cole Sprouse) a surprise birthday party. Once Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) learns of the party, she decides to make it interesting and things quickly get out of control. Meanwhile, Veronica (Camila Mendes) contemplates whether she should participate in the deposition to help get her Dad released. Madchen Amick and Marishol Nichols also star. Dawn Wilkinson directed the episode written by Britta Lundin & Brian E. Paterson (#110).

"Riverdale" airs on the CW Thursdays at 9/8c.
