"The Flash" stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell will reprise their roles as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows in the new "Prison Break" event series, which has officially been greenlit at Fox. Additionally, Fox has ordered a pilot episode for the "24" spinoff "Legacy" (via The Hollywood Reporter).

"Prison Break's" original producing team -- creator Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead -- will also return for the event series, with Scheuring writing and executive producing. The original show saw renewed interest after appearing on Netflix, where it is reported to be very popular. Fox has not disclosed the length of the new series.

The "24" spinoff, "Legacy," will feature a young, male operative and a more seasoned female agent. The intent is to launch as a limited-run series, similar to “Live Another Day,” but an earlier report contends there’s a possibility of a longer-term project. While original "24" star Kiefer Sutherland has previously said he will not return to the series, Howard Gordon, Manny Coto and Even Katz will be back to executive produce. Emmy Award winner Stephen Hopkin will direct the greenlit pilot episode.
