Miley Cyrus Is Apparently in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” in theaters May 5.

Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is a star-studded affair, featuring the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russell and Glenn Close. Each day it seems a secret addition is revealed, and today brings a new one, as The Huffington Post has discovered that actress/musician Miley Cyrus has a surprise role in the sequel.

Lifestyle blogger Sarah Ruhlman uncovered the news during the film’s press junket in Los Angeles. Dave Bautista confirmed Cyrus’ involvement, saying, “I heard that she’s uncredited and a voice somewhere.” After not remembering the specifics offhand, he added, “I know I’ve heard that.”

Rulman’s acknowledgment that Mainframe is in the movie is another big spoiler, following confirmation by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige that Stallone is a member of the original Guardians of the Galaxy team. Director James Gunn and Feige tried to keep Mainframe’s voice actor a secret:

Kevin Feige: Have you told anyone who Mainframe is?

James Gunn: I haven’t told anyone, yeah. Should we?

James Gunn: Oh I think I actually did. I blew it. I told one person.

Kevin Feige: It’ll get out.

For those unaware, Mainframe is the name given to an alternate-universes version of Vision, who operates along with the Guardians of the Galaxy. For fans of the comics (especially the older series), this will no doubt add some excitement to their movie-going experience. As for how the team shows up in the film, we’ll have to wait and find out.
