Disney is returning to its roots with new 2D animated shorts starring Mickey Mouse.

Debuting June 28 on Disney Channel, Disney.com and the WATCH Disney Channel app, the series of 19 shorts blend the art direction and storytelling of Walt Disney and his animators from the 1920s and '30s with a contemporary flair. Each cartoon finds Mickey and such co-stars  as Minnie Mouse, Donal Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto in different locations, including New York, Paris, Beijing, Tokyo and the Alps.

The first short, "Croissant de Triomphe,” can be previewed now on Disney.com.

Emmy-winning artist and director Paul Rudish (Dexter’s Laboratory) is the executive producer and a director. Aaron Springer (SpongeBob SquarePants) and Clay Morrow (Dexter’s Laboratory) are also directors, while Joseph Holt (The Powerpuff Girls) is the art director.
