Open Road Films has debuted the first trailer for "Spotlight," the drama about the Massachusetts Catholic sex-abuse scandal starring Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel McAdams.

Directed by Thomas McCarthy, the film tells the true story behind the investigation by The Boston Globe's Spotlight team into sexual abuse of minors by priests in the Boston Archdiocese, and its cover-up. The coverage led the reporters to win the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service, and resulted in the resignation of Cardinal Bernard Law.

Opening Nov. 6, "Spotlight" also stars Stanley Tucci, John Slattery, Liev Schrieber and Billy Crudup.
