Actor Michael Biehn has confirmed he'll reprise his role as Corporal Hicks in director Neill Blomkamp's "Alien" film. He'll join returning franchise star Sigourney Weaver.

"It's official, I will be reprising my role as 'Cpl.' (Not for long ...) Dwayne Hicks," Biehn wrote in a newly discovered Instagram post. "With the go ahead, Hicks will return with Ripley in Mid 2017. Perhaps Hicks and Ripley well eventually get to second base in this one ..."

Also remembered for his roles in "The Terminator," "The Abyss" and "Tombstone," Biehn co-starred in 1986's "Aliens" as the steely Colonial Marine, who's dead by the beginning of "Alien 3." A battle-scarred Hicks is featured prominently alongside Ripley in Blomkamp's early concept art, prompting Biehn to comment, "Damn someone forgot to tell these two to hit the ageing cream."

According to Empire, the actor has since suggested he won't be able to attend Sheffield Comic-Con in August because of his commitment to the "Alien" movie.
