Capcom has revealed the first image and details for the upcoming Mega Man animated series from Dentsu Entertainment and Man of Action.

In addition to the new look, the multimedia superstar will sport a new alter ego -- that of Aki Light, who's characterized as "a normal, upbeat, and above all optimistic young school-aged robot living in Silicon City." However, he soon learns that deep within his programming are secret protocols that allow him to transform into the superhero Mega Man.

He'll be joined by familiar characters, such as the robot canine Rush, as well as new ones.

Announced in June 2015, the new Mega Man series is set to debut next year in time for the 30th anniversary of the franchise. Man of Action -- the collective of comics and animation veterans Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle -- will write the 26-episode series, and serve as executive producers.
