Set decorator Leslie Pope, who worked on several Marvel Studios films, including Avengers: Endgame, passed away this Wednesday. She was 65.
According to Pope's longtime friend Trish Gallaher Glenn, Pope died in her home in Venice. She was recovering from a heart surgery procedure she underwent in February. A private service was held.
Pope's other work includes Seabiscuit, for which she received an Oscar nomination for Best Art Direction,  Steven Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can, Spanglish, Spider-Man 3, Django Unchained and The Amazing Spider-Man. Other Marvel Studios films she worked on include Ant-Man and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Pope won Excellence in Production Design Awards from the Art Directors Guild, specifically for Winter Soldier, Endgame, Catch Me If You Can and Django Unchained. She also earned four production designer credits throughout her career. One of those credits was the Neil Burger-directed The Lucky Ones, which features Rachel McAdams and Michael Peña in its cast.
Her family asked for donations to be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, The Sister Study and Planned Parenthood. She is survived by her husband Doug and siblings Janet and William.
