It's been confirmed that Sony and Marvel will be co-producing a second Spider-Man trilogy after the "Home" trilogy is wrapped. However No Way Home shakes out, it's clear that Tom Holland is going to be the live-action Peter Parker/Spider-Man for the foreseeable future.

Throughout the first MCU Spider-Man trilogy, there were several classic supporting characters who remained absent. This next trilogy presents an opportunity to give these characters their day.

11 Gwen Stacy Is A Vital Spider-Man Supporting Character

The MCU Spider-Man trilogy has kept Peter in High School, but several of his usual supporting characters have been absent. One of them is Gwen Stacy, comic Peter Parker's first real love. Comics Peter and Gwen met in college. With Holland's Spider-Man University bound to happen sooner or later, that would be the perfect time to bring in Gwen.

After the mostly 616-inspired Gwen in The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen in Into The Spider-Verse, it's time for the MCU to adapt the punk Gwen Stacy from Ultimate Spider-Man.

10 Black Cat/Felicia Hardy Is Spider-Man's Most Important Costumed Love Interest

Giant-Size Black Cat: Infinity Score #1 cover

Spider-Man's three most important love interests are the aforementioned Gwen, Mary Jane Watson, and Felicia Hardy/The Black Cat. The former two have been in plenty of movies, but Felicia has yet to get her big-screen debut—the closest she got was a planned appearance in Sam Raimi's canceled Spider-Man 4.

It's long overdue for Black Cat to make her debut, and she could shake up the usual Spider-Man movie formula—she's a love interest for Spider-Man, not for Peter Parker.

9 Harry Osborn Is Peter's Best Frenemy

Harry Osborn Spider-Man Green Goblin 1

Another key member of Spider-Man's supporting cast not yet present in the MCU is Harry Osborn. With how much the previous two Spider-Man franchises focused on the Osborns/Goblins, this absence is justified. Still, if/when Peter goes off to college, Harry could easily be introduced alongside Gwen, as in Lee and Ditko's original comics.

Neither Spider-Man 3 nor The Amazing Spider-Man 2 quite got Peter or Harry's falling out right—third time's the charm?

8 The Hobgoblin Would Be A Refreshing Spin On The Goblin

Hobgoblin feature

The appearance of the Raimi-verse Norman Osborn in No Way Home makes introducing an MCU-native Norman Osborn a tricky proposition. It wouldn't be impossible, but it runs the risk of being repetitive and redundant. Plus, it's unlikely any other actor can outshine Willem Dafoe in the role.

One solution? Use the most famous comic Goblin not yet adapted to film: Roderick Kingsley, aka the Hobgoblin. Nowhere near as famous as the Green Goblin, the films could replicate the original mystery surrounding the comic Hobgoblin's true identity.

7 The Tease Of The Scorpion In Spider-Man: Homecoming Needs To Be Followed Up

Scorpion Michael Mando

Mac Gargan made a brief appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming as a criminal client of Adrian Toomes. Apprehended by Spider-Man, Gargan's appearance in the film's post-credits scene indicates he wants revenge on Spidey.

In the comics, Gargan is the super-villain Scorpion. The MCU J. Jonah Jameson also seems more antagonistic than his Raimi-verse self. This could lead to the comic origin for Scorpion, where Jameson funds his creation to oppose Spider-Man.

6 Kraven The Hunter Is Being Set Up Already

After Venom and Morbius, Sony's next Spider-Man villain spin-off will star Kraven The Hunter, portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Whether the film will be set in the MCU is uncertain, especially given Taylor-Johnson previously portrayed Quicksilver.

However, Kraven is one of Spider-Man's most famous foes, and he hasn't fought him onscreen yet. If the multi-verse story of No Way Home hadn't panned out, Kraven would've been the film's villain.

5 The Kingpin Fits Spider-Man's World As Much As Daredevil's

With his recent appearance on Hawkeye, Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin/Wilson Fisk is the first Marvel Netflix character to make the jump to the MCU proper. Kingpin debuted as a Spider-Man villain, even if he's become more associated with Daredevil over time.

Charlie Cox is rumored to be appearing in No Way Home as Matt Murdock. If this is true, a Spider-Man/Daredevil team-up against Kingpin must be on the table.

4 Miles Morales Is Just As Much Spider-Man As Peter Parker

Tom Holland has admitted he doesn't want to play Spider-Man forever. The obvious solution isn't to recast Peter Parker, but to hand off the Spider-Man mantle to Miles Morales. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse made Miles an animated star, and his live-action debut is inevitable.

Whether Peter simply retires or Holland gets to act out The Death Of Spider-Man, Miles should be introduced so he can be waiting in the wings to take over.

3 With Miles Must Also Come The Prowler

Aaron Davis in Spider-Man Homecoming and as The Prowler in Spider-Verse.

Miles' most important enemy is a villainous reinvention of classic Spider-Man ally, The Prowler. Miles' Prowler is his uncle, Aaron Davis—the character, like Miles, previously appeared in Into The Spider-Verse.

Aaron Davis also made a cameo appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming, portrayed by Donald Glover. If/when Miles comes along, the Prowler is an obvious choice for the two Spider-Men to face.

2 Kitty Pryde Could Further Integrate The X-Men Into The MCU

Ultimate Spider-Man, Kitty Pryde hangs onto Spider-Man's shoulders

Since the merger between Disney and 20th Century Fox, the X-Men's debut in the MCU is just a matter of time. It's likely there will be crossovers between them and other Marvel franchises to better integrate them into the setting. One obvious way would be to adapt the Ultimate Spider-Man storyline where Peter dated Kitty Pryde.

Like Black Cat, Peter and Kitty's romance comes with dramatic potential that Gwen or MJ can't replicate. For once, Peter would be dating someone else with superpowers.

1 Uncle Ben's Absence In The First Trilogy Must Be Rectified

uncle-ben-spider-man

Everybody knows the tragic story of Peter Parker's Uncle Ben. Both the Sam Raimi and Marc Webb films covered it, and it's likely for these reasons that the MCU hasn't yet—it's quite well-tread ground.

Still, Uncle Ben's death and Peter's culpability is the pivotal moment in the Spider-Man mythos. He deserves at least a passing reference in one of the Tom Holland films.
