Continuing a string of big "Spawn" announcements, Todd McFarlane has posted an update on the long-running comic book's latest animated adaption on his Facebook page. While McFarlene's post did not include a look at the upcoming cartoon's titular character, the post does reveal designs for NYPD homicide detective Sam and Twitch as well as two shots of a city street.

In the Facebook update, McFarlane references the character's previous animated series which aired on HBO from 1997 to 1999. The Emmy award-winning "Todd McFarlane's Spawn" ran for 18 episodes across three seasons. McFarlane did not reveal any details about when or where the new "Spawn" animated series will appear.

The news comes hot on the heels of two other big "Spawn" announcements: original alter ego Al Simmons will return to the Spawn identity in the Image comic's milestone 250th issue, and acclaimed writer Brian Wood ("Moon Knight," "The Massive") will join the creative team with the following issue.
