Someone at the red-carpet premiere of “John Wick: Chapter 2” must have snagged a red pill right as moviegoers started pouring into the theater, because a picture of the reunited cast of the 1999 action film “The Matrix” has surfaced on social media. Posted by the official “John Wick: Chapter 2” Twitter account, the picture shows Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Laurence Fishburne posing for the camera.

Reeves, Moss and Fishburne co-starred in the 1999 cyberpunk action film “The Matrix” in which a race of sentient machines have imprisoned humanity in a world-spanning computer simulation. Reeves played Neo, a hero newly awoken to the reality of the machines’ rule. Fishburne played Morpheus, trainer and mentor to Neo. Moss was Trinity, a fellow survivor of the machine apocalypse, love interest to Neo and action hero in her own right.

The picture was snapped by Getty Images photographer Todd Williamson at the debut event for the upcoming sequel that follows up on the 2014 “John Wick,” an action flick that saw the eponymous John Wick (Keanu Reeves) cut a swath through legions of assassins and mobsters in a revenge-fueled killing spree. The sequel looks to delve deeper into Wick’s ties to the secretive international underground assassination guild touched upon, but never fully explored, in the first film.

“John Wick: Chapter 2” stars Keanu Reeves, Common and Laurence Fishburne and debuts in the United States on February 10, 2017.
