Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who played John McClane's daughter in 2007's Live Free or Die Hard, apparently will reprise her role -- if perhaps only briefly -- in the fifth installment of the Bruce Willis action franchise.

The news comes from Ted Cross, who's working as an extra on A Good Day to Die Hard, the John Moore-directed sequel that sends McClane to Russia, where his estranged son (played by Jai Courtney) is caught up in a daring prison escape of a rogue political leader. Of course in Live Free or Die Hard it was Winstead's character Lucy who was in trouble, kidnapped by the leader of a group of cyber-terrorists.

"I'm the 'Man in Black,' as they all kept calling me," Cross writes on his blog. "I wish I could tell you everything about the scene, but that will have to wait until next year. It's a scene near the end of the movie. I got to work with Bruce Willis again, which is always nice. The best, though, was that I got to work with Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who plays Willis's daughter. I've had a crush on her ever since she was the lead actress in Scott Pilgrim vs the World. That's a terrific movie if you haven't seen it yet."

A Good Day to Die Hard opens Feb. 14, 2013.
