With filming under way on "The Punisher," Marvel and Netflix have announced the addition of three cast members.

Ben Barnes (“The Chronicles of Narnia"), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (“Girls”) and Amber Rose Revah (“Indian Summers,” “Son of God”) will join star Jon Bernthal, who was introduced as Marvel antihero Frank Castle in the second season of "Daredevil."

"We couldn’t be more thrilled about the remarkable talent joining Jon Bernthal in 'Marvel’s The Punisher,'" Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television, said in a statement. "Ebon, Ben and Amber are incredibly talented actors and we can’t wait to see them bring these characters to life."

Barnes will play Billy Russo, described as Castle's best friend from his days in Special Forces who now runs a successful private military company called Anvil. Marvel Comics fans may better know Russo as Jigsaw, a hit man for New York City's criminal underworld who becomes The Punisher's archenemy.

Moss-Bachrach has been cast as Micro, a former NSA analyst "whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle." This role presumably is based on the Marvel Comics character David Lieberman, a hacker and longtime ally of The Punisher who's gone by the aliases Micro and Microchip.

Revah, meanwhile is portraying Dinah Madani, a Homeland Security agent who's "vexed" by Castle. This appears to be a new role created for the television series.

Premiering sometime in 2017, "Marvel's The Punisher" is executive produced Loeb, Jim Chory and Steve Lightfoot, who also serves as showrunner and wrote the first two episodes.
