Sweet Christmas! Another piece has fallen into place for Marvel's third Netflix series, "Luke Cage".

Following today's announcement that Theo Rossi and Rosario Dawson will join star Mike Colter and Alfre Woodard in the series, Deadline reports that Simone Missick has joined the cast as Missy, "a woman with a strong sense of justice." The report also suggests that Missy is actually Misty Knight, who in the Marvel Comics source material frequently joins forces with Luke Cage and Iron Fist and served as a member of the Defenders in at least one incarnation of the team.

Created by Tony Isabella and Arvell Jones, Knight lost her arm in the line of duty as a NYPD police officer, preventing a bomb attack in the process. After resigning from the force rather than take a desk job, she received a bionic arc from Tony Stark and went on to start a detective agency alongside her friend Colleen Wing. The two frequently teamed up with Luke Cage and Iron Fist's Heroes for Hire, and Knight and Iron Fist even became romantically involved.

Given that Marvel's fourth Netflix series will be "Iron Fist" and lead into "The Defenders," Knight makes a logical addition to the street-level side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Missick, a relative newcomer, is married to Dorian Missick, who played a lead role on "Southland," which "Luke Cage" showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker previously worked on.

Mike Colter will make his debut as Luke Cage on "Jessica Jones" later this year while Cage's self-titled series is expected to arrive on Netflix in 2016.
