After debuting Skottie Young's kiddified variant covers for the first issues of "Star Wars," Princess Leia" and "Darth Vader" last week, Marvel Comics starts this week off with the first look at Alex Ross' painted variant for the flagship series' debut issue.

Released via EW.com, the variant pays homage to the very first "Star Wars" comic Marvel ever published, which hit newsstands in 1977 with a cover by series artist Howard Chaykin.
