Marvel concluded its week of "Avengers vs. X-Men" cover reveals with five new covers for "AvX" tie-in issues including Walt Simonson's cover for "Avengers" #26" written by Brian Michael Bendis, Salvador Larroca's cover for "AvX: VS" #2 written by Kieron Gillen and Steve McNiven with art by Larroca and McNiven, Giuseppe Camuncoli's covers for "Avengers Academy" #29 & #30 written by Christos Gage with art by Tom Grummett and Mike Deodato's cover for "New Avengers #26" written by Bendis with art by Deodato.
In January, Bendis and Simonson spoke about their collaboration on "Avengers" beginning with "AvX," where the artist teased what he was most looking forward to drawing. "What I'm looking forward to drawing most is, there are some guys from AIM with those big protective helmets," Simonson said in January, "and it's right in my wheelhouse. ... When I saw that, I just cracked up. And you wanted him to have a facial expression inside that mask! I'll do my best."
The covers are the latest in a series of "AvX" reveals this week including "Avengers vs. X-Men" #4, "X-Men Legacy" #266" and "Uncanny X-Men" #12, Chris Bachalo's cover for "Wolverine & the X-Men" #10 and Alan Davis' cover for "Secret Avengers" #27, Sara Pichelli's variant cover for "Avengers vs. X-Men" #3 and a massive seven page preview of "Avengers vs. X-Men" #1 written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by John Romita Jr. Marvel's "AvX" cover reveals began in January for both the main event series and tie-in issues from both the X-Men and Avengers books.
